What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy recognises the lasting impact of trauma. This is when stressful events that you experience or witness make you feel unsafe, helpless or vulnerable. Our approach helps you unravel your thinking, helps see beyond the issue and gives hope whilst guiding you towards a better, healthier future.

Psychotherapy: Our Approach

Nikki Heaton Bennett

Snr Accred. NCIP
dedicated Integrative Counselling psychotherapist

Bringing years of experience in private practice, I work with a relentless passion to help people become free from restricting, limiting beliefs, a freedom from a challenging childhood and old trauma wounds.

The challenges you are experiencing today may be influenced or shaped by experiences from the past. It is time to let these go. My approach is to go back to the beginning and to come forward, to walk with you as you release old patterns of behaviours, wounds and thought patterns to help you embrace a positive future.

By integrating years of learning, training and experience, I offer therapeutic sessions by blending different approaches around what each individual client needs at that time. I have found that no singular approach works for client’s as we are complex human beings with complex needs. This means we need an integrated, flexible approach to meet the needs of a client within each session for positive, lasting change.

I approach my work as a dedicated professional bringing a down to earth, relatable quality to the sessions. My clients report feeling safe, heard and appropriately challenged in their patterns of thinking. My professional experience involves working extensively with trauma and abuse. I have provided therapeutic intervention to high schools, the police, social care, teachers, employment assistance programmes, councils, large corporate organisations’ and private clients.

MBACP
Integrative Psychotherapist

I am a professional integrative psychotherapist working within a relational, humanistic approach; particularly specialising in anxiety, stress, and building the confidence to address those negative, limiting beliefs that are impairing you from moving forward and living.

I offer a space where you can feel empowered to truly be yourself. A space where you will build the confidence to make positive and valuable changes to the things that are stopping you from progressing and living your best life.

I understand that there isn’t a one-size fits all approach, as we are all so individual. This is why I am flexible with the therapeutic methods I offer, and therefore able to support with a multitude of concerns and needs by guiding you towards clarity, perspective, and focus.

I pride my private practice on working in partnership with my clients and by working in collaboration, we are able to focus on and find the solutions that you need to reach your desired goals. Therefore allowing yourself to take back control of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and in turn, empowering you to be the best version of yourself.

Alongside my private practice, my professional experience includes over 14 years working within the education sector with both children, adolescents, and adults.
