Meditation: Our Approach
Meditation classes will allow you to access a deep inner peace, helping you to cope better with the challenges you face. Our classes are based on Dru Meditation, which helps you to find a still inner point allowing you to look at your life from a different perspective.
You will discover a deepening sense of the calm balance between alertness and relaxation, allowing your body to find stillness and your mind to become quiet and focused. With practice at home between classes, you will find tranquil depths within you that you didn’t know existed, allowing you to master your emotions and your mind, empower your strength and know yourself more deeply.
The mindfulness state will reduce stress, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain and ease insomnia. When we meditate, we gradually proceed from an alert state of awareness, to one of relaxation; then on to focussed concentration, after which we can enter in to the healing depths of the meditative state.
We need to work inwards through the layers of our consciousness. To assist us to work through these layers, each session will have a little gentle movement work to release tension that may be held in our bodies; we then enjoy a short but deep relaxation and some breathing awareness. Finally we sit and experience a guided meditation, helping each participant to achieve that perfect balance between alertness and relaxation; a state where stillness and calm abide.
